Christmas Cards!!!

Ok, who all has their Christmas cards done and in the mail? Not me! I've got 10 in the mail and still need to do about aother 70! How many do you usually send out? Seems like the post office is getting more picky all the time. Extra postage for clear envys and now if it's alittle bulky by adding some pretty ribbon it's extra too! Looks like plan and simple is going to get the vote this year. Guess I better go make some. I'll try and get back here and post some of the cards I am sending out in the next couple of days. I'ld love to see what everyone else is sending, if you want to post a link.

Crafty Christmas Stamp-a- Stack Results

They could make a 6 x 6 scrapbook page or a 3 x 6 card. I got this idea from one of the presenters at convention this year. What a great idea. I've used it at a couple of workshops where there are some scrapers and card makers, that way they got to chose. Worked great!
I thought I was coming up with a neat idea for this one until I looked at Stampers Showcase on SU's Demo site. Someone had almost the exact idea, except she had used the scallop circle punch. Oh well, I guess great minds work alike.

These are the other two projects that I had for them to do. The card is pretty much a CASE from the mini. They loved the rub-ons on the candles. I'll try and post the other 8 projects that my downlines did as soon as I have time to make them or they make them for me. We had a total of 46 who came and stamped with us. We charged $1.00 per project which I know some of you think that's too cheap and it is, but everyone had such a good time and for us that's what it's all about. We had another raffle basket to help pay for the room rental and 14 door prizes! Everyone who told us they were coming before had received an extra door prize slip. We had little buckets sitting by the door prizes and they could pick which one they wanted to try and win. We drew at the end of the event. A friend brought some Tastefully Simply samples,(Thanks Sherri!) which were very good, and another brought Tupperware to sell. (Thanks Teresa!) They also brought a door prize and something to put in the Raffle basket.

Check out my SU website if you haven't viewed the sale yet. http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/twiladavis/ I need to get off of here and start working on my stuff for our annual Christmas Stamp-a-Stack which is Sunday. I am such a procrastinator. I've got my ideas, just no motivation. Ok, Well check back in a couple of days and see how it went. I think we've got 42 signed up to come so far! That's pretty exciting. Gotta go stamp. Everyone have a nice week-end.

What I'm Thankful For

This time of year makes you really think about what your thankful for, and I've got a lot to be thankful for. Ten years ago my dad had just passed away from Mesatheleoma in September. It was a very hard time for us. The Thanksgiving after he passed away my son who was nineteen kept complaining of his shoulder hurting. He was a skateboarder so we thought he just had landed on it. The pain kept getting worse. I took him to the doctor, couldn't find anything wrong. He wasn't any better by the next week and had a low grade fever he couldn't get rid of and seemed really tired. Back to the doctor, blood work, cortisone shot in the arm and a z-pac. Blood work showed nothing. Back home, a few days later he couldn't walk upright, doubled over, very tired. Back to the doctor, his spleen was swelled up, more blood work. (Shoulder pain was referred pain from the spleen.) Went home to wait for a call. Call came, "get to the hospital ASAP!" Two days later after more tests and an ambulance ride up to Indianapolis, Michael was diagnosed with Leukemia. Got his first chemo treatment on Christmas Eve 1998. (Not exactly what ever 18 year old wants for Christmas.) Ginny our only other child was a perfect match and the following May before she turned 16 she gave her brother a Bone marrow transplant that saved his life. What am I thankful for? Our God that hears and answers prayers, my children, a loving husband, family, my church family, friends, doctors, hospitals, a country where I can chose where we can get hospital treatment, food, shelter, a free country and the men and women who defend her so we can be free. That's what I thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Take care.

Some pictures of a few craft fair items.

These are some of the items I had for sale at the craft show last Friday. I also sold the Hershey bar holders and some of the Tic Tac holders. I used the white stazon to stamp on the clear top of the tins. The designer paper I used was SU Ski Slope, which I LOVE! The round tin at the top is about 3" in diameter and I got them from creativexpress.com. The nugget tins came from specialty bottles.com. And the last picture is of another notebook I did. Notebooks came from Office Max. You can by them in a pack of 4 for around $5.25. The Fresh Cut Notes fit on the front perfect! Well I gotta go get ready for our Crafty Christmas Stamp-A-Stack which is on Sunday afternoon. See everyone later.

Another Craft Fair

I did another craft fair yesterday and this one did not go as well as the Pumpkin Patch. I didn't think there were as many people at this one as there was at it last year. All the other venders agreed with me. I'll try and post some things I sold on Monday. I altered some of the clear tins that hold 12 Hershey nuggets, did some of the little candy bar holders, tins with pepperments, felt flowers, some notebook and pen sets, and some tic tac holders. I'll see if I can get some good pictures this time.

Two Posts in One Day! Be sure and scroll down and see what we made last night also but here is tonight's Workshop Make and Takes.

Of course I had to make some more of the little Tic Tac holders for door prizes. THey are very easy to make and are sooo cute.

I usually try and find two make and takes for the ladies to make at my workshops. Tonight we are going to be doing some masking. These two cards are cased from fellow SCS's I might have changed the colors are added something but the credit goes to them. There are some really talented ladies on SCS!

More workshop goodies

Hostess gift. I made a 6 x 6 paper scrapbook using the Winter Retreat Simply Scrappin' Kit. It has 4 page protectors in it and I also made pages for them also. I just love the colors in this kit!

My version of Million Dollar Mary's progressive scrapbook page she wow'ld us with at convention. I used the Key Tag punch and the Word Window punch to make my buckle.

Not a very good picture, what can I say I was in a hurry! This is a Tic Tac holder using the hostess set Deer Friends.
Sorry I've been gone so long, but things have been very busy araound here! We finally finished up the crops about a week and a half ago and since then I've been working on my niece's wedding. Turns out I had to make a dress for my other niece a week before the wedding! Turned out great and was super easy to make. The wedding was very nice and went off without a hitch, even though it was a cold and rainy day. So I got to rest a little Sunday and then I had a workshop to get ready for yesterday. Here are some of the things I came up with including my version of Million Dollar Mary's progressive scrapbook page. Don't have a post of the cards we made, but will get that on here later. I've got another workshop tonight so I'll have some more things to add in the next few days. Thanks for checking in. Come back and "Stamp a Little Longer", soon. PS I'm also very excited to be nominated for a blog award and if I've ever got time enough to figure out how to put it on here I will. Thanks!

I really love the Sweet Always grouping that I just came up with! but I don't need to make another one for show. I've got to save some for the ladies. Maybe I can post a picture of all of them when there done. For all the ingredients check out my scs gallery: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1120534?nocache=1

Almost Done!

We are almost done in the fields! Beans are cut and just 40 or so acres of corn! If it hadn't rained us out we'ld been done. Oh well, it's pretty darn close. Tomorrow I'll post a 3 pc gift set that I am having the Ladies Fellowship at my church make this month. It includes a 4 x 8 spiral notebook, checkbook cover, and ink pen to match. It's very nice looking. A friend and customer of mine (Eunice) gave me the idea. She's making sets of all the four seasons for some of her friends for Christmas. Thank you Eunice for finding these notebooks for me! I've been trying to find that size of notebook ever since I got back from convention with a SCS swap I was in, I think it was the Workshop WOW swap. Vicky Kahlandt did a wonderful Birthday Calender and matching pen. It was so beautiful. I'll try and post it for you to see also. Hope everyone has a nice weekend.

Scallop Circle Punch Santa

Ho! Ho! Ho! Isn't he just cute! Hey there, sorry I haven't posted in awhile, but there has not been much time for stampin'. We are still in the fields! But I think we can finally see the end of the tunnel. Just two more fields of corn and double crop beans and we are done!!! at least for awhile. I was on SCS last night and was looking at some of the Santas people were making with punches so here is my version. Check out my gallery to see what you need to make him.http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1111466?cat=500&ppuser=44905

Tonight's workshop goodies

Chapstick holder/ door prize

Inside of holder

Scallop Punch Medallion Card

Snack Size Hershey Bar Treat Holder. I CASE'd this from Angie Kennedy here: http://chicnscratch.typepad.com/stampinacademy/2008/09/kit-kat-hershey.html

Same card, but oops I forgot to thread my ribbon through the holes and I don't know how to delete it.
This is the other project everyone got to make and take home with them.

These are the little DSP box bags I gave to my hostess tonight. Then I showed everyone how to make one and gave it away as a door prize. Gotta love that Crop-a-dile. This project is a good way to sell it for sure! Love, love, love this paper! If you want directions how to make these Diana Gibbs came up with the idea. Here is her blog: http://dianagibbs.typepad.com/stampin_with_di/box-in-a-bag/

Well needless to say, I was kept busy today go-for-ing around so I didn't get to Joann's to buy fabric! So I took another spider jar kinda filled with the same stuff as the one pictured a couple posts back. I did add some of the spider peppermint patties and some other goodies. We had a good time. Don't get to see some of my relatives on my dad's side very much anymore.
We've got a family reunion tonight and a silent auction. I'm trying to decide what I want to take. I'ld love to be able to do a banner using the BS but I don't know if I've got time to get some material since the guys are still in the fields. So it may have to be another Spooly Spider Cookie jar. Check back later to see what I decided to take. Have a nice day!

Quick and Easy Wedding Invitations

Here is a sample of the wedding invitations we made for my niece today. It has three layers. The top layer is vellum, next layer is Very Vanilla, and the third is Bravo Burgandy. The couple is stamped on the vellum. We were able to make 3 of each layer out of one piece of cardstock and vellum. Bottom layer messures 8 1/2" x 3 5/8" in length, middle layer 8" x 3 5/8" and top layer 7 1/2" x 3 5/8". When cutting the cardstock in thirds I did have to cut a little off the last one of each piece. When you do it you'll understand. This invitation will fit inside a business size envelope. Used the stamp set "To Have and To Hold" and Burgandy grosgrain ribbon. We made 130! It took us four hours including a cake break. (It was also my niece's birthday.) I didn't think that was bad at all. She loved them. I was happy that she loved them!

World Card Making Day

Some of the snacks we had. I also had a friend who sells Tastefully Simple make some samples for the ladies. Even though she had broken her foot the week before, she still made us some goodies to try and her daughter was kind enough to bring them by for us. Thanks Sherri and Christi. They were wonderful. I just love Tastefully Simple!

I made 34 of these little baskets and everyone who came got to take on home as a thank you for coming to stamp with us.

These are the 5 projects I had them make. They did make 2 spiders. Some of the ideas are cased from some sidelines of mine and from the SU sight or SCS's. Thanks for stopping by.

Hello, sorry it's taken me so long to post about our event, but I've been pretty busy helping out at a little shop I work at part time and helping the guys farm. The event was a success. My downline (Amanda) and I decided on 4 cards and 1 3-D item for the ladies to make. So they could make a total of 10 things if they wanted. We charged $1.00 for each project. Now some of you may think that's too cheap, but we just wanted to have a good time and maybe get some new customers. We had a total of 30 show up. I made 34 of the little BS baskets! Just enough! We had a basket full of goodies that we raffled off to help pay for the room, a couple more raffles, and 8 door prizes. Everyone had a good time and we even got a few orders.

A couple of spiral cards and some more goodies for the Pumpkin Patch

"Color Me" Kid Cards

Halloween Test Tube Favors
I bought these test tubes from Oriental Trading last week-end when they were having a sale on Halloween stuff, plus FREE shipping with a $5o order!
Flower Fusion Pens
I cased this idea from a fellow SCS. I've got to go and check out who it was so I can give her credit for the idea. It's a great one, don't you think!

Bugs and Kisses Spiral Card (front)
(inside)

Star Spiral Card (front)
After doing do alot of these finally decided to try and cut both my spirals from the cirlces at the same time. It worked and made the card making alot faster after that. Plus I knew the spirals would be the same size.

(inside)

This is one of the table decorations a gal I work with (Janice) made for my mom's "Class of 53" reunion. Notice the circle the numbers are in. Look familiar? It's the bottom of the little basket sizzix die! Of course I had to add a little something to the arrangement.

"Happy Birthday to You"

Aren't these cute? I made these cupcakes for my cousin's birthday. I used the stamp set WOW Flowers, the round scallop punch and the 1 3/8" circle punch and the new In Colors, also added a pink brad to the middle of the flower. I stuck each on a toothpick with a glue dot. Thanks for stopping by.

Mini Scrapbooks for Craft Fair

5 1/2" x 6" Scrapbooks

These little scrapbooks are so cute and EASY to make! Did I say EASY? I got the instructions from a Splitcoast Swap I took part in at convention. It only takes 2 12"x12" DSP and 2 12"x12" pieces of colored cardstock and some embellishments. I used the BS and the Go Go Boots Alphabet for the words on two of the books. The top two were made with retired Scrapkits and the other with Summer Picnic DSP. I'm so happy SU kept the Summer Picnic DSP.

Washington Apple DSP

Small Comp Books and Matching Pens Covered with
SU's new Washington Apple DSP.

I love SU's new DSP and I want it all! I'm busy working on goodies for a craft fair on Saturday, September 27. So I'm going to be sharing pictures of some of the things I'm making. Hope you like them.
